What is the Oxygen Friends feature, and why should I use it?
Oxygen Friends allows you to send money to your friends within the Oxygen app. It simplifies financial transactions among friends, making it more convenient to manage shared expenses.
How do I use Oxygen Friends?
To use Oxygen Friends:
Log in to your Oxygen account, and navigate to the “Friends” tab.
Click the + symbol in the top right corner, and add your friends by searching for their name in your contacts list.
If you don’t have the friend in your contacts list, tap “Add new contact” to search by phone number, email or $O tag.
Once you've connected with your friends, you can start splitting bills and sending money with just a few taps.
Is Oxygen Friends secure?
Yes, Oxygen Friends is designed with security in mind. Your transactions are protected using industry-standard encryption and security measures to ensure your financial information remains safe.
Can I use Oxygen Friends with friends and family who don’t have an Oxygen account?
No, both you and your friends need to have an active Oxygen account to use the Oxygen Friends feature.
Why should I invite friends to use Oxygen when we have Venmo, Paypal or other cash apps? What are some of the unique benefits of Oxygen Friends?
While Venmo and other cash apps are popular choices, Oxygen offers a versatile internal Peer-to-Peer (P2P) platform known as Oxygen Friends. You can split bills, pay rent, and send gifts conveniently. One big advantage to using Oxygen Friends is speed—transactions are processed instantly or within minutes, unlike bank transfers that can take days or even weeks.
Oxygen also allows you to chat with your friends in the app and automatically calculates splitting expenses between two individuals or an entire group of friends, making transactions even easier and more efficient.
Additionally, when you refer a friend to Oxygen, you can each earn a $100 referral reward, if the referee meets certain conditions. Please see the Refer a friend terms and conditions for more information.
7. Are there any fees associated with using Oxygen Friends?
No, there are no fees when using Oxygen Friends within the Oxygen app.
8. Can I send money internationally using the Oxygen Friends feature?
No, Oxygen Friends only supports Peer-2-Peer (P2P) payments between you and your accepted friends in the Oxygen app. You can’t use it to send money internationally.
Sending and receiving money with Oxygen Friends
How do I send and receive money with my friends and family with P2P?
P2P (Peer-to-Peer) is a feature that helps you connect with your friends and family and transfer funds with ease to their Oxygen account or receive funds within seconds. Send up to $5,000 per P to P Transfer; Maximum of $5,000 in P to P Transfers per calendar day; No limit to the number of P to P Transfers per calendar day; Maximum of $15,000 in P to P Transfers per calendar month.
From the overview page, tap on the friends tab and allow Oxygen access to your contacts. Select the contact to send funds to or request funds from. Tap the $ to request or pay your friend, choose the paperclip to add an attachment, and/or type a message in the Message box. Hit the plus symbol to increase the amount or tap on edit amount to type in a specific number. Once your amount is set, hit pay or request. Review your details and tap Confirm.
Can I set spending limits or controls for transactions made through Oxygen Friends?
Oxygen Friends currently doesn't have built-in spending limits or controls for individual transactions. However, you can monitor your expenses and set personal spending limits using Oxygen virtual cards to help you manage your finances effectively.
How do I keep track of shared expenses and transactions when using Oxygen Friends?
Oxygen Friends provides a detailed transaction history within the app, which allows you to keep track of all shared expenses and transactions with your friends.
To view your transactions, navigate to the “Overview” tab and tap on “Transactions.”
To view your bank statements go to “More” > “Bank statements” to see your monthly transaction history.
Is there a maximum number of friends that a user can split an expense with using the Oxygen Friends feature?
Oxygen Friends allows you to split expenses with multiple friends at once. There is no specific maximum limit on the number of friends you can split expenses with at any given time.
Is there a maximum limit on the amount of transfers or the amount of money I can send or receive through Oxygen Friends?
There is no limit to the number of transfers you can make using Oxygen Friends; however, there is a daily amount limit of $5,000 and a monthly amount limit of $15,000.
Can I split bills in custom amounts using Oxygen Friends?
Yes, you can split bills in custom amounts amongst your friends using the Oxygen Friends feature. Go to the Friends tab and tap “Groups” you can either create a new group or tap into an already established group. Tap the $ in the bottom left corner to split the bill between group members.
Are there any rewards or cashback benefits for using Oxygen Friends?
Oxygen does not offer special promotions or rewards for using the Oxygen Friends feature at this time.
Can I request money from a friend who is not using Oxygen Friends?
To use the Oxygen Friends feature, both you and your friend need to have an active Oxygen account. If your friend doesn't have an account, they can sign up for one to start using Oxygen Friends.
What happens if a friend doesn't pay their share of a shared expense on time?
It's essential to communicate with your friends about shared expenses. If someone hasn't paid their share of an expense on time, you can use the Oxygen Friends chat feature to remind them.
Can I use Oxygen Friends for business-related transactions and expenses?
Oxygen Friends is primarily designed for personal use between friends and family. For business-related transactions, it's advisable to explore other business-specific tools for your expenses.
Is there a limit to the number of friends I can add?
As of now, there is no specific limit on the number of friends you can add within the Oxygen Friends feature.
How quickly are money transfers processed through Oxygen Friends?
Oxygen Friends transactions are processed instantly.
Can I connect my Oxygen Friends account to other financial apps or bank accounts?
Oxygen Friends is an in-app feature within the Oxygen platform and cannot be directly connected to other financial apps or platforms.
What happens if I accidentally send money to the wrong friend?
If you accidentally send money to the wrong friend, promptly contact the recipient and ask them to return the funds. We are unable to return any Oxygen Friends payments once processed.
Are there any restrictions on the types of transactions I can make through Oxygen Friends?
Yes, Oxygen Friends only supports payments between friends who are Oxygen account holders. Oxygen Friends supports various types of transactions, including bill splitting, money transfers and shared expenses among friends.You can only send money that you have in your Oxygen account.
